Design Process
Graphic design and web design are processes, involving you at all phases. If you have never worked with a designer before, you may not know what to expect.
At Aureus Media Design, we utilize the steps defined below to facilitate Project Development:
Project Planning
At the initial consultation, the following will be defined:
- Scope and time frame of the project
- What you wish to communicate
- The types of materials you wish to develop
- The functionality of the materials
- What results you would like to see
- Specific details about your company/organization
- Short and long term goals
- Other relevant details
Quote Submission
Once your needs are defined, a quote defining the hourly rate and an estimate of the number of hours needed to complete the project will be submitted to you for evaluation, usually by the next business day.
The Contract
Aureus Media Design requires all clients to approve and sign a contract that will protect both us and you, and provide a solid expectation and agreement about the creation and delivery of the project. A contract will be drawn up once the quoted estimate for the project is agreed upon.
Project Payment
Terms of payment require a 50% Deposit of the Total Amount prior to work being performed. The remaining balance is due upon completion of the project.
Scheduled Feedback Sessions
Once a contract has been signed, the time frame defined, and payment terms agreed upon, work on the project will begin. A schedule for feedback will be determined within the context of the defined time frame. Your input is valued and necessary in order to continue the forwarding movement of your project.
Hosting and Backend Development
What Types of Interface Designs Do You Want To Implement?
Interface gadgets include things like javascript rollovers, dropdown menus, navigation bars, forms, frames, animations, advertising banners, guest books, etc. We will discuss user interactivity issues and browser/platform compatibility issues relative to gadget implementation.
Do You Need Customized Code Development?
We will discuss whether your site will require scripting of any kind for Forms, e-Commerce Solutions, Account Integration, Defining Data Collection Cookies, and any other application or functionality required to create solutions for your business requirements.
Do You Need A Domain Name or Site Hosting and Monthly Site Management Services?

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?
Aureus Media Design will develop and submit for your approval, three (3) Site Design Prototypes.
Scheduled Feedback Meetings where we collect additional information and suggestions for design edits will be identified and recorded for use in creating a secondary and final revision.
Following the Approval Signature of the Final Design Prototype, the creation of a fully functional website working draft that includes Site Content as provided by the Client.
Final Approval & Site Launch
After the web site development has been completed and approved, your web site will be launched live in order to perform final browser and platform testing and begin submissions of site pages to Search Engines.
(Note: a Hosting Service Account must have been opened by the Client prior to the appointed Launch Date.)
Final adjustments will be made to ensure everything is operating correctly and finalization of any outstanding issues can be resolved.
* Note: A Separate Contract must be signed regarding subsequent Site Maintenance Services billed monthly or annually.
Hourly Rates & Other Fees
Aureus Media Design charges Fees on an Hourly basis, determined by the specific type of work being performed, but no less than $25.00 per hour.
We can provide customized Print & Web Graphic Design as needed and in accordance with the Client Company Marketing Strategy & Deployment Plan
Basic Rate
The basic rate applies only to work performed by the designers at Aureus Media. All other costs will be referred to as Contingency Costs or Related Expenses.
Quotes on a Per Project basis will be submitted one (1) business day after the initial consultation is held once the Work Scope and Project Type has been determined. Upon reaching an agreement by and between all parties involved, a Contract for the Scope of Work will be drafted outlining all of the Terms of the Agreement.
Contingency Costs
Contingency Costs cover elements of the design process not covered by the Quote in the Contract and may include:
- Rush Charges for Projects with Strict Deadlines
- Charges for Delays In Deposit Payment
- Charges for unforeseen Client Delays causing Hard Deadlines to be missed
- Charges for Changes to the Project outside the parameters defined by the Scope of Work outlined by the original agreement signed by both all parties
Related Expenses
Expenses directly related to and incurred when the project requires the use of materials or work produced by third-party Vendors other than design performed on the computer.
Expenses May Include:
- Color Laser Generated Composite Proofs
- Match Prints, Negatives, and other Pre-Press Production Items
- Photos and Film Development
- Stock Photo and/or Clipart Purchases Specifically Required by the Project
- Paper Purchases (usually included in printing costs)
- Printer Coordination Fees and Job Pickup & Delivery Costs
- Web Site Hosting Research & Coordination Fees
- Sub-Contracting Costs for Extensive Complex Backend Development beyond the Scope of Interface Design and Implementation
