During my Senior Year at Santa Rosa High School, two major events coincided, culminating in what I thought was the perfect storm of fortune.
The first of these fortuitous events was discovering Francis Ford Coppola walking through our hiigh school scouting a location. I had seen him as I was walking toward my 5th period, and although I suspected who this figure might have been,I knew that until I confirmed my suspicions by checking to see if there was a green Rolls-Royce out front of the school, I should witrhhold my excitement. Once I confirmed the Rolls-Royce was out fron, I started running down the hallway, waving my hands in the air scraming, “Mr. Coppola, Mr. Coppola!”
The movie, “Peggy Sue Got Married,” was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, starring the beautiful and talented Kathleen Turner, Joan Allen, Jim Carrey, Nicholas Cage, and Catherine Hicks.

The second event was being cast in the leading roles for the 1986 Santa Rosa High School production of, “Jesus Christ Superstar,” directed by John & Elizabeth Craven (Drama Directors at SRHS)
Primarily, I would play the role of ‘Pontius Pilate,’ and alternately perform the lead role of ‘Jesus Christ’ on nights when Jesus was played by my friend, Michael York, was needed elsewhere, as he was a valuable player on the SRHS Basketball Team.
Below is the complete video of the closing night for the SRHS production of,
“Jesus Christ Superstar.”
